Iron Man footage

To cut a long story short I have been waiting for what seems like forever to see this movie and well... it kinda sucked. Actually no, not sucked but I'd say I was very dissapointed. To me the story was flimsy and seemed to not gel. It started out really well then lost its' way (kinda like Michael Jackson). To me it seems like they filmed the first draft, before someone came in and went "Good job, now I'll take the script and add some kind of structure."

Yes, I am a bitter man.

On the upside, Robert Downey Jnr was as expected - brilliant. Charasmatic yada yada yada. I give the movie 2 gold stars just for his presence. He IS the movie. btw if you haven't seen "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" I suggest you call in sick for work today.

The Iron Man suit was spot on.

Quarter of a star because the director Jon Favreau was in "Made".

And what's up with the rock music score? B-grade. I bet if someone gave an 8 year old kid money to remake Top Gun, that's the music he'd choose.

Worth seeing but just don't go in with high expectations. 3 out of 5 gold (and maroon) stars.

this might explain why I enjoyed it so much. I had NO expectation at all. While i like the IDEA of super hero movies, I can't tell you the last one I saw that I really enjoyed. But it was getting such good reviews that when the rest of the clan wanted to go, I decided to tag along.

and sure enough... pleasantly surprised :) Vanilla, maybe. Hardly perfect (I hated the rock score as well). But pretty good. I'm looking forward for where the series will go :)

That's actually very insightful.

I just saw this film again — and I liked it even more the second time. The plot isn't spectacular (there really doesn't seem to be any justification for the villian or what he does, and it doesn't seem like the audience is supposed to care anyways), but Downey was just so perfect in the role.
