Iris problem on DVX100? (Not A)

I have had my DVX-100 since the first ones were out in Nov. 2002.
I've logged over 300 hours on the head and until now have had no problems. Recently I've been noticing an intermitent problem with the manual Iris control. Sometimes when I do small (1/3 or 1/2 stop) changes in exposure the iris will instantly just close down. I can immidiately open up and go back to my origiinal exposure, but in a few instances where I was adjusting exposure while shooting it has ruined a shot. I have not noticed it in Auto iris, and only happens when I adjust never if left alone. I am wondering if this sort of thing has been seen or fixed by any other DVXs out there. My unit is out of warranty now so I may have to pop for a repair. Just thought I'd ask first.
BTW. Does anyone know where the Pany service center is in SoCal?
Thanks,
E.

Hi!,

Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem with the iris on the DVX100?

I've been getting the same problem for a few years on both my DVX100 cameras.

Until recently I've been able to work around the problem because I film using both cameras (one wide, one close) and if the iris closes unexpectedly I can simply edit in post to show the other camera, but now it's happening too frequently.

Any help would be appreciated greatly :)

Thanks,
Matt.
