Iris getting locked on the HVX200

Hello,

Did anyone ever have the problem of the iris on the HVX200 getting locked? I have been shooting with it for a few days and yesterday the iris control of the camera gave up, meaning that I cannot control the iris at all, however much I turn the dial. The iris seems to have locked at about f8 and does not change at all, on either manual or auto mode.

Tried everything from resetting the camera, cooling it down, switching it off for hours and removing the battery. The camera continues to record and playback however. If I turn the iris dial, the f-number display on screen changes but the iris doesn't!

Please tell me if anyone has encountered tis problem and how you solved it.

I think it may be a weakness or defect with the HVX.
Pani would be cool to cover this even out of warranty
Try cranking the ND switch on and off rapidly.
Get it into the shop asap.
expect to pay 1000 bucks.

I have a similar problem with my DVX100a - but what it does is intermittent, but very annoying - it suddenly goes from what ever setting I am on, to closed if I even touch it wjhen trying to change by a 3rd of a stop or something. Then I have to dial it way back up to open back to where I was... It is generally durring an important shot, when I am trying to fine tune the setting, and then it tottally screws me.
 
Has anyone been able to resolve this? Or does the camera really need to go out for repairs? This has happened one of our school cameras. I can scroll the iris wheel and the display will claim to be open through closed, but the iris won't move at all.
