iris dial malfunction

i've set up the iris dial to 'up open' on the day i got the camera. however, sometimes when i turn the dial up, to open, the iris closes instead.
this problem first appeared after ~ 200 hrs' use and it just gets worse by the time, until it is now very annoyingly, happens too often (but not all the time).
i remember once reading a similar report, so i wonder, if anyone else experience such a malfunction or even has a solution (which i doubt )

i'm going to reset the camera and set it up again. will let you know if it works.

I have had this problem with my old Sony TRV120E. You would try to open the iris and it would close. Similar to what you are having.

But never experienced that with the DVX.

update - i initialed user file, which reset the iris dial set up, and set it back to 'up-open'. i tested the dial for like hundred times now, and it seems to be ok so far. i saved user file.. now let's see
