Iraq war movie shot on hmc150

dang. this looks good. very good to see some films being shot on this camera. cant wait to get mine. the audio on the girl at the first part was bad though. the guy was fine...she sounded like she wasnt mic up. loved how u spliced stock footage with ur footage. it was seemless.

very good stuff.

Yeah I thought it was pretty sweet. The mix of stock footage with hmc footage was pretty awesome. Did you rent a helicopter?

Thanks guys. We shot it all in a total of 12 hours over 2 days. We didn't rent a helicopter, it just happened to fly over and we reacted quickly. As for the audio - neither of them were mic'ed up - you were right. It was boom only and it sucked cause the grocery bags she was holding messed up her best takes. Had a skeleton crew for it meaning me and the writer/producer ha...but shhh!

lol...the helicopter happen to fly by...man thats some good stuff. nice reflex's. thats priceless. The only thing I'd say is that the "iraq" enviroment i could tell wasnt (duh). but on a skeletal crew and little or no budget i;m assuming.... you did pretty darn good!!

yeh that definaely could make a master card ad

hmc=$3500
food for 2 days= $300
having a helicopter fly overhead on your no budget Iraq war film= priceless

:D

Nice to see a "movie" being shot with this camera.

I think the trailer could be 2 minutes long.

And yes, the slowmo capabilities of the camera are amazing!

Obviously an impressive feat you've pulled of here!

I would agree that the trailer should be two minutes long, or even a hair shorter.

Also, since you guys have made a movie here, it seems like you might want to do something with it in the future (who knows festivals, or sell it or something), so maybe you should stay away from Rolling Stones music? I mean I'm assuming that you don't have the rights to it...

Really liked how the stock footage and the actors cut together in the second half of the trailer. When they first got to 'Iraq' it was a little less believable for me, and I think a hair more CC and may some of the stock footage could turn that around.

But overall, great effort!

I like the palm trees... kinda fooled me into thinking it's in Iraq.

Oh yeah btw to me it's an American war in Iraq. Not Iraq war. ;)

Looks really good, can't wait to see the full length film! Very inspirational, and I'm so glad I'm shooting my first movie on this camera now.

Only thing I'd advise is to not use found music.. especially not things like the Stone where you'd be paying a crazy amount to license. Better to get much more obscure and or original music for such a piece, otherwise it might look like a mash up.
