IR contamination strikes out favorite lovable serial killer

Watching the latest ep of our favorite lovable serial killer, where we know the EX's are used as B cams, it appears to me that Nikon have either changes the colour of their camera straps to a horid pink/brown, or Sony should be eternally embarrased:

Come on Tiffen, bring the T1 on!

That is pretty bad. It looks like a "special edition" neckstrap it is so off.

But I would think the 486 filter would have cleared this up just fine.

Yea, I'm sure it would, I'm just wanting the T1 as I assume it will be more likely to provide the most optimal solution, being designed for the problem from the get go.

Hey GuyB...Never ASSume things! The strap is actually maroon/burgandy, not black. This is an old school cica 2002ish neckstrap. I know because it was the first one I bought for my N80 and still have it to this day

IR contamination on the EX is bad but NOT this bad, LOL!

If I am wrong I appologise, I've never seen that strap colour before. As product placement I'd still think they are using newer products, I'll have to take my black Nikon strap out in full sun in summer (a little way off yet) & see how it comes up.

LOL no problem! I can't blame you for thinking it was an IR issue.

I definitely think it's the same one I have because it appears to be thicker at the neck and gradually gets thinner as it goes towards the camera end of the strap. The newer straps are the same width/thickness all the way around and come to an end at a rubber-like piece.

Actually I was neally right in my first post. I did say that either it was IR or they changed the colour. Well they have changed their colour, but changed away from that colour to black ;-)

The Tiffen T1 is now out and selling very quickly, get your order in now!

And it solves the issue. If you are bothered by the IR color shift the filter works with no green cast, is affordable , but be aware it takes almost a stop away.
