Were you using a track and dolly in the opening shot, or was that just your DV Rig?
Awesome shooting!

The opener is a dolly. You could never get that sideways smooth motion with a shoulder mount.

Great footage. Did you get that depth of field w/out any adapter? Were you zoomed in? Looks great.

I was looking into the M2 adapter, or the Letus 35....

Thanks for the great footage.

No adapter just keeping the aperture fully open and zooming in. I've got my eye on the Cinemek though.

Another question - what were your sorenson settings, if you don't mind my asking - they look terrific.....

B

For the Sorensen Squeeze Settings the deafult HD quicktime settings work well but I mostly use the default settings in "Large Pregressive" and change the data rate top 2000 kbps and the frame size to 720 x 404.

What is the difference between 24pN and 720pN, this doesn't make sense to me , how can you record at 720 frames per second? o and your wife is hot!

Coming from the DVX world the "N" can be very confusing. On the DVX, it meant "Normal", which added 3:2 pulldown. On the HVX is means "Native" which means it only records the native 24 frames to the P2 card.

Fantastic footage, I am still waiting for camera. Thanks for helping the time go by....

That's the new hotness right there. Nothing more to say other than echo other comments. It's some of the best footage I've seen from the camera.

Great footage. Let me in on your secret of finding focus. Did you just use the on camera LCD, or did you have an external monitor? And it's so nice to see how the camera functions in available light. Thanks for the clip.

Hi Bob,
great footage. It looks like you're having a lot of fun with the camera.
Hey, I live in Toronto, too. I've been testing out the Andromeda modification on the DVX lately. Everyone in this forum has been dying for an HVX vs. AndromedaDVX shootout. If you ever feel like doing one, send me a PM and we can get together. I'm in Parkdale, maybe we don't even live far from each other.

It definitely is tougher than the DVX to find focus. This clip is easier because he's not really moving in an and out of focus. So once I got it I was mearly following her lateral movements. I'm not sure what works better for me - the LCD or EVF, but definitely turn the detail on for EVF.

Thanks, Bob. And I agree with turning the detail on for the EVF. I really think the LCD is pretty tough to nail focus with. So tough I think I'm going to invest in some kind of external monitor.

Your wife can really get down.... Have you shown this to apple? I could really see this as a commercial. Great job!

Great work, as always!

Could you share the specifics of your lighting set-up and what you did in post?
