Iphone with DSLR lens

How do you guys feel about adapting Iphones to shoot with DSLR lens. It looks like a cool idea, but so far the video footage has not impressed me that much, any thoughts on if it's worth it

Yes, the only reason to do it would be to market it based on the "gimmick".

I understand, the iPhone has a nice camera for a phone. But people really need to move on, its not THAT cool really...

im not sure i'd call it a "gimmick"
it's just another way to do things. not from a "quality" but "a certian quality" standpoint.

if you look at this business from an artistic perspective - its just another paintbrush for the artist to use as needed.
now i dont know why you WOULD. but there is probably some fun to be had simply in COULD.

Exactly, personally while anything is possible I think there are better tools for the job that are honestly not really that expensive.

Nah, in all honesty, I'm a big fan of repurposing items you may already have around to do new things ("why did I do it like that? Because I could"). But I'm just sick and tired of hearing people talk about how great the iPhone is, and all the things it can be used for. I'm not a fan of iOS personally.

But yeah, I've seen the iPhone used to make a cute short film. But I've also seen a Nokia used for a feature "just because you can", and even before the iPhone4 did HD, the HTC Evo was used to create a music video or two. Doesn't mean its worth the endeavor, and all these accessories endorsing using it this way just get under my skin.

I suppose its a personal thing for me. Whatever tools help you make a great looking composition is cool with me at the end of the day.
