iPhone 3Gs - Announced today

Hm. Kholi... now you're making me think I should have exchanged my 3G... ugh.

There's no REAL reason to do so unless you're always on your phone. Mines is always with me, I'm always on the net or checking email, texting and during all of that it's playing music in my ears.

So, I'd like to not have to worry about slow-down while I'm plugging Zombies (ZombieVille USA) and listening to Silversun Pickups. xD

I primarily text and use the internet with mine (3G), so I've not had much issue. Usually when I listen to music, it's while driving so I'm not doing anything else with the phone.

I've had it almost a year now and am pretty satisfied so far. It would be nice to have the faster processor, but I think I can wait .. hopefully next summer's will be even faster than the 3Gs.

Wow, I wish I could keep an iPhone for a year. I've never had one longer than six months.

That's what most people do. 3GS is pretty much for a hardcore loser like me, who can't put down it down. I'm guilty of wearing my headset while on set ACing or something. I literally just forget that it's there and have mentally adjusted to life having a soundtrack wherever I go.

Mostly just feed it through my shirt and put the phone in my pocket so the wires don't get caught.

Don't get what you don't need. Let silly kids like me pay Apple to make better peripherals for you to love later on.

I really think the iPhone is THE worst phone ever, but I'll probably keep buying every single version until someone makes something else.

I was thinkin' about that Samsung phone... but it's Verizon. I'm stuck.

A guy here at work got the new Palm Pre and liked it so much he's selling his iPhone and switching to Verizon (I think that's who has it). From talking to him it sounds like a real contender to the iphone ... that's good, competition just means better products for us in the future :)

And, thanks, Kholi for feeding the Apple machine so when I stop by periodically I get a nice product :)

FCS 3 won't drop until Snow Leopard does, which means late this year or NAB 2010.

Meanwhile, they will introduce four new models of iPhone and 50,000 more apps, whoopee! That helps us out as editors a whole lot.

Dan

Just out of curiosity, what new FCS features/programs would you like to see that don't exist already? Blu Ray?

LOL No problem.

I REALLY want that Samsung, so very badly. The guts completely obliterate anything under the iPhone's shell but alas... I'm a Cingular/AT+Gimme your money contractee so I can't do much but hope...

Or switch to Verizon finally. I'm jealous of that guy now.

I'm talking about the Samsung on Verizon. Got my posting mixed up in response to Larry. Sorry.

Premiere Pro CS4.1. It can import FCP projects, it's a "suite" like FCS (but includes PhotoShop and After Effects), and it can do things like graphics card acceleration for native realtime AVCHD and AVC-Intra, it offers native P2 support, OnLocation (with, hopefully, some HDMI support someday)... and on a Windows box you can get a PCMCIA slot and an expresscard slot and a blu-ray drive. CS4 was a rough launch, 4.1 looks better; Adobe has a serious opportunity here if they can just get their act together.

Premiere Pro to me right now is like the RED: all the features you can possibly want but with plenty of bugs that have yet to be ironed out. CS4 especially is a fickle beast and I've been with Premiere since version 6.5. I just spent literally an entire night trying to salvage a project file that freezes everytime I try to save it. The culprit: having an SD project sequence in the same project as an HD sequence; and this "open timeline" was actually touted as a feature in CS4! Adobe are pretty ahead of the pack as far as integrating new features and supporting new formats, but they really need to make the software much more stable for me to trust it.

Got my first iPhone this morning! A 32GB iPhone 3GS is now syncing as I type. :) Couldn't be happier!

The 3mp camera is awesome, the video cam feature is actually pretty decent, and I have a lot more to explore! Thanks Apple for a solid product. AT&T...Eh, you still suck.

Got mines in a heartbeat. ATT lines were short. Easy to grab.

IN and out. It's actually noticably faster than the 3G to me, downloading large PDFs (purposely sent by myself lol) and opening them. iPod doesn't stall when you open it.

All around better.

Got a 32GB for myself and one for my wife. First iPhones. Everything's suave except Mail is ridiculously simplistic. No "mark all read" or folders or rules. I'm trying ibisMail now to see how that plays, but it's kind of spotty. Don't really want to do IMAP, either. Otherwise, having a lot of fun with the little time I've had to play with it.

WOW.

Bought the Incase Slider (matte black) the other day and an Anti-Glare screen protector... Heaven. the soft felt-like plastic of the case combined with the matte feel/look of the screen protector. Greatest combination that exists, IMO. I can't put the thing down because I love the way it feels so much. :D

This just sounds nasty on all levels. It's like me pulling out my portabrace bag and loving how snug and tight the HPX fits in it. Some things a man should never share on a public forum... :lipsrseal

I just bought my 32GB phone today.. sexy is a good word to use for this device...

droooool.
