GH13 iPad GH13 video playback. WTF

So, I used the camera connection kit to download my raw and mov files to my ipad2 (recorded using 75Mbps Peak Reliability Patch V2, 1536x864). From the photos app, the mov files appeared (as a grey box with "mov"), but nothing would happen when I clicked on it. Then I stumbled onto an app called iStorage HD, which miraculously allowed me to playback these video files perfectly!

Now here's the weird part, after doing a sync with itunes (win7), the videos are no longer playable in iStorage HD, and are now suddenly playable in the native photos app.Well all but a single video will play, and occasionally only audio plays back, so to refresh, I just swipe to the next video and back again. Huh? I have no idea whats happening, but it looks like an itunes sync is doing something to the videos/ or index.

In addition, MTS files will not load at all, and sadly imovie won't load anything but ipad recorded videos (not pretty).

Has anyone else been able to get videos working on the ipad in a more predictable way? Success? Failure?
 
I did this a few weeks ago... my memory is a little fuzzy. I used Final Cut Pro with its Log and Transfer feature to load the footage from my GH2. Then I exported the video from FCP's timeline with the "Share" (I think) option. I think there were settings for iPad compatibility in there. I was able to load the exported videos into my iPad 2, which I think required manually importing the video into iPhoto, and then syncing the iPad 2 to the computer.
 
The max res for any video clip that the iPad 1 or 2 can play natively is 720p/30, so it won't play any 1080p clips without additional software.

I've been to play 1080p clips from my GH1, 7D and 600D via Buzz HD and AVPlayer.
