FS7: Inverting the FS7's Mic Holder

Hey friends. I have read older articles on here that mention people inverting or flipping their mic holders upside down on their FS7's. I decided to try that myself today as I was wanting some added protection on the mic holder, plus I liked how it made the entire FS7 package smaller. It also makes the FS7 store easier and safer when traveling in a hard case, or at least it will for me.

I was wanting to see if now after a period of time shooting this way, has anyone on this forum had issues because of this? Did you pick up too much handling noise from your lens due to it being closer to the mic? Did the mic holder wear out faster because it's upside down? Did you have any other issues? I just wanted to hear some experience from people on here before I start shooting this way with my Rode NTG-4. Thanks in advance!

I haven't noticed any handling noise at all. Flipped mine 2 months ago so it would fit in a custom cut Jason Case. Guess I better round up some Loc-Tite now, just to be safe.
