Invalid Serial Number

I bought my DVX from Willoughbys. I just got the bill the other day and today I tired to submit the rebate claim, BUT the form is saying that my serial number is invalid. Has anyone else had this problem. Please help me because I am seriously pissed off. I'm 18 and I don't have a lot of money, so $300 is worth fighting for. Thanks.

I would raise holy h*** with Willoughby's. I'll bet they slipped you a grey-market camera. Did it have the DVX Book and the Magic Bullet Editors software in the box?

It's Willoughby's responsibility to make sure you got a legitimate, authorized US unit. If they sent you gray-market, they have to take it back and make good on the deal.

And if they DID send you a gray-market camera, I'll bet they won't be authorized for long!

While I'm certain Barry is 100% correct on this, a couple of years ago I sent in a rebate for a
computer monitor I bought at Best Buy from a reputable household brand name. The reply was not a check but something similar to what happened to you. In my circumstance, Best Buy cut me an in-store credit or maybe just cash from the register--I don't remember--for the entire amount of my rebate. Seems like Willoughby's should take care of this for you without too much trouble, or like Barry said, they probably won't be a US dealer for long. The internet is a fascinating things for merchants. It requires them to deal fairly or else. The converse is true of good merchants and repeat business. Good thing we have the internet.

this happened to me about 2 months ago. i bought mine from digital megastore for $2945 and they were advertising the $300 rebate (they have since removed it). It didnt come with the book or DVD but I wasnt worried given the price I'd paid. When I tried to fill out the rebate online, it came back invalid. I called the Panasonic and talked with Jan Crittendon about the matter and she told me what to do. I called the Digital Megastore and told them my camera isnt covered under USA warranty or the $300 rebate. I was slipped a grey market camera and they agreed to replace my Puerto Rican Panasonic with a fully warranted USA model with Magic Bullet, the book, and the DVD. If you did in fact get the book and the software with your camera (as some stated in an earlier thread), just go online and download the form and mail it in.
