Hi guys.
Check out this video I did.
Now the only thing I actually want you to pay attention to, is the intro.. seeing as the middle part is in norwegian..
But yeah.. I was pretty pleased with the after effects work on this one.. it's simple, but effective I think..

Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_DIX_8My9w&fmt=18

When the text says:
"et vitnesbyrd fra Lise"

The translation for it is:
"a testimony from Lise"

Enjoy!

liked the look. i def want an Sgpro. ur footy i;ve seen in the past is partly to blame :P
The intro and outro look nice. i watched the interview even though i duno what she was saying and my tip is to get other shots when doing stuff like this. some CU, medium and even XCU's. it would make it more interesting and look like u have more than one camera. I presume the questions are asked..so after a series of questions or one or 2....just stop...reframe and then ask another. Also that sounded like a restaurant or something, if it was then u could get some cut aways or the place(i duno what she is saying so maybe some stuff around could have been related. depends on the story i guess) and cut aways of just her not even talking. Just cut aways of her...her hands, her lips..just intersting stuff..and u can continue the audio of her talking while that shot is shown.

Nice job.

Thanks guys:D

I should've probably explained better in my first post.

This was a really rush shoot.. And the most important thing was to get her story on film.

If you check out these videos:
http://www.youtube.com/user/VineyardDowntown

There you can see I've used a lot of different angles etc.

So yeah:)

The SGpro is just awesome!

Nice look. Great editing and CC
You seem to be run n gunning it, what lens do you usually have on your adapter?

Thank you:)

Run n gunning? hehe

I only have two lenses (still) which are; a 50mm nikon nikkor-h f/2.0 and a 35mm Canon FD f/2.0

50mm's should actually have a lower or wider aperture than f/2.0, but this particular lens, the nikkor-h is actually a very sharp lens.
(On this video I had some focusing issues though :()
But if you check out this small documentary;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfsSY7UUQWE&feature=channel_page&fmt=18
here I used only the nikon lens. And this is the sharpest images I've ever gotten so far.

The 35mm Canon lens is a very nice lens as well:Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Yeah.. but I want and need some more lenses.. a tele, a 28 or 24mm, and a nice zoom lens:)

Any more opinions?

Nice lighting.

You think so?
I wasn't that satisfied with the lighting actually.
It was just ONE worklight right infront of her...
I would've liked to have a backlight on her, but we were filming inside a café and I didn't want to disturb the other guests etc.

Intro and outro is very nice. Elegant, in fact. Good work.

You'll be pissed at this comment- but I just have to say I don't think the SGpro & Nikkors lend anything to the piece.
You could have gotten the same or better results without it, just stepping back a couple feet and zooming in for the same framing.*

DON'T FREAK OUT- just try it. See if you can replicate the same look/feel by using the Leica lens.
Find the 'sweet spot' (all lenses have them). You might be surprised.

*I do not understand the concept of trying to find a 'sharp' lens to work with the 'interruptor' shallow DOF devices. It's like counter to what they're about, yes?
Oxymoronic - you know that word?

The intercuts you have in the first couple minutes- of her, need to cover that.
Looks bad how you have it (weird to the viewer).
Cover it with something you grabbed at the same time, same light.

That's why you take a couple of extra minutes (no matter how rushed you are) to get 'pickups' of her hands in close up, her face in medium close up or extreme close up, maybe a swoosh wipe (fast pan in the same set up).
Those you GRAB, then use when you need to cover a split like I'm talking about above.

The little cross dissolve but shifted head position between them just sucks.
Pardon me for saying so- but it's the facts.
So, with a little cutaway cover in your pocket, you can add a little pace and variety to the piece when you have to cut between two spoken segments like that.

Please- what is she talking about?

And anyway- your stuff always looks great.
I appreciate you providing us with looks, and your contributions here.
Pardon my bluntness. Not intended to insult you- just trying to help.

EDIT:
This turned out to be a long post:P I'm not arguing here at all though:P

Please- what is she talking about?

Hehe it's a testimony by Lise.

Her and a group of friends were at a conference and they had some spare time so she and her friends were praying and she got these 3 images in her head:
A bald man..
A red diamond-patterned shirt.
And a logo of a café called Stockflet or something..

And then they went to this Stockflet café and in there they waited till it was about 10 min before it closed, and in walked this bald man with a red diamond-patterned shirt..
and he was walking with crutches..

And then Lise (the girl in the video) just got really nervous and kind of sick actually :P

But after a while they walked up to him and and asked if they could talk..

He told them he used to work as a manager for the Stockflet café etc..

After a while he said he was going in for an operation the next day.. and then they asked if they could pray for him.
He said yes and so they did.
Now he didn't get healed right then and there, so that wasn't really a part of the testimony.

But it was more the fact that all the three images that were shown to her.. they actually "happened":P
Which was an encouragement to her and maybe more :)

Hehe nothing big and fancy, but it was sort of a "feel good" testimony.

And anyway- your stuff always looks great.

Thank you very much for being honest!

I don't take it as an insult at all.

I know what you mean, and I agree with you mostly.

I wasn't that pleased with the image here (this is why I said to focus on the intro, but I'm pleased that you actually commented on this) and I could've easily pulled it off without the SGpro.

The reason I did it with the SGpro was just because I was very much rushed, and the SGpro was already mounted on, and I hate taking it on and off all the time.

But I would say the image is passable, at least for the crowd I was showing it to. (A ministry in our local community)

*I do not understand the concept of trying to find a 'sharp' lens to work with the 'interruptor' shallow DOF devices. It's like counter to what they're about, yes?
Oxymoronic - you know that word?

Well I had to google the word to know what it meant.. so yeah now I do:laugh: Hehe!

But this is not exactly true.
The sharpness of the lens is crcucial to getting a nice image.
It's not just, you know.. "Oh I want shallow DOF" and that's it..
You want the the object that is to be focused on, to be as sharp as possible. (I use norwegian terminology so I really don't know the words in english)
And this really comes down to "good lenses".. good glass you know..

And hey, I use the SGpro even when I have the whole FOV (is that the correct word for it?) focused. It's "the look" the adapter gives... I don't really know how to describe it.. But I find it very pleasing to the eye.

The intercuts you have in the first couple minutes- of her, need to cover that.

I would have done this a lot better had I gotten more time.
I only got one take of her and that is what you have seen here..

But if you look at some of the other videos on that particular youtube channel you'll see some videos with intercutting between different angles etc. (not all of them are that great though:()

And the cross dissolving was just a very, very rough way of thinning it down a little.
I tried putting some artbeats filmburns over them, but I just couldn't get it to fit..

But the transitions didn't bother that much me and neither did it bother the audience, so as I said.. It was passable.. but not any means great.

I think we had about 7 minutes to shoot.. And her whole testimony took about 5 min in total.. So I really didn't have the time to do anymore out of it.

Thank you again :)

thanks for the story.
made me smile.

and thanks for your replies.

i do understand the problem with on/off issues and just running with how it comes outta the bag.
especially when pressed for time.

i did notice the artbeats burn, which was perfectly adequate to cover.

i look at other vids in the channel.

as always, keep up the excellent work!
