When: Monday April 2, 2007 5:00PM to 7:30PM
Where: Scottsdale Community College (Chaparral Road, East of Loop 101), Conference Room LC-404 (Northeast corner of campus)
What: Writer/Director Neal Trout is shooting selected scenes from 1320, an original screenplay, as part of his TCM230 Motion Picture Directing class. Scenes will be shot on the evenings of April 21 & 22, with at least one crew meeting on a Monday evening prior to shooting.
Hiring for all crew positions, including post-production.
Resumes and demo reels preferred but not required.
A brief description of 1320:
There’s one thousand, three hundred, and twenty feet in a quarter-mile, and for two nomadic street racers, their life depends on every inch of the 1320. The Quarter-Mile Cowboy and the Grease Monkey drift into Phoenix broke and looking for some action. When Christine, equal parts beauty and *****, entangles herself with them, she offers up an invitation to the Sweet Sixteen, an annual invitation-only high stakes street racing tournament, but it may come at the cost of breaking apart their partnership.
A project synopsis from the Director:
Shooing these selected scenes is primarily an exercise in execution. By not sweating the small stuff the focus will be on creating a quality piece, something that everyone involved will be proud to put on their reel, and since we’re shooting on the HVX200, it’ll be in crystal clear HD.
I’m looking at this project as an opportunity for me to field test the crew, so that as I continue to TCM248 and TCM275, and projects grow in scope, and hopefully budget, I’ll have a veteran team that’s got a workflow and common vocabulary down cold. It’s also an opportunity for everyone involved to observe me as a leader, because it all starts at the top, and I want my team to have faith that I’m not going to waste their time.
Right now we’re working on a micro budget, I won’t lie, I’m dead broke, but I’m not afraid to drop a little coin to get the job done right. The plan is that once we’ve cut these eight and a half pages into a quality piece we use it to move forward and get financial backing on a feature.
We’ve locked two great cars and two great locations. A beautiful red & black, 25th Anniversary IROC Camaro, and a brand new, yellow Mustang GT. Our first night we’ll be shooting our race scene on a dead end street a block from my house, gorgeous streetlamps and no traffic! The second night we’ve got an amazing, brand new gas station, right off loop 101 at Via de Ventura, shiny new pumps with a great view of the freeway in the background.
Please contact me at TroutPro@gmail.com or my Producer, Rachael Beck, at RLB518@yahoo.com for copies of the script. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
