interview shot with Litepanel Micropro, Zeiss 35mm f/2, GH1

Here are two stills from a lighting test. Experimenting with dramatic lighting for an interview.

Camera: Panasonic GH1
Lens: Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/2
Lighting: 1 Litepanels Micropro next to camera
Shutter: 1/60
Aperture: f4

I should preface by saying that I was shooting myself and I'm still waiting for my DSLR Redrock rig that will allow me to step back further from the camera and focus properly with the followfocus whips. The scene is also not correctly framed. This was just a quick lighting test. I wanted to see the results I would get with the GH1, Zeiss 35mm f/2 lens, and Micropro Litepanel.

I should also mention that it seems the GH1 tends to overexpose. By that I mean that whenever the GH1 metering indicator pointed to "0", it seemed to my eyes that the picture was actually overexposed: whites washed out. So if the GH1 told me to expose at F2.8, I would instead expose at f4. It just seemed more natural.

So, I'm not sure how much to trust the GH1 metering indicator and histogram, since my eyes tell me something different. That's why I'm wondering whether I shouldn't be using a lightmeter.

I intend to rent the Sekonic L758 lightmeter this weekend and do some more tests. More examples to come.

Feel free to critique and thanks for advice / feedback.
