GH2 Interview Shooters: 720/59.94 or 1080/60i for 29.97 Production Workflow?

Now that I can actually sustain a hacked 720/60 workflow, I'm curious as to what other commercial shooters are using to get 30P?

1080/60i looks great
720/59.94 also looks sweet.

Broadcast can handle both, so the question's more so which one may look better?

720 doesn't blow up to match the 1080 as well as I had hoped, but at the same time, I like not having to worry about working on a 60i timeline with the footage.

Any thoughts from anyone else?

With scaling 720 to 1080, the scaling algorithm is critical. With 1080i, the de-interlacing algo is critical. Top quality processes are smooth and visually lossless.

The nature of the gh2 hack 'pipeline' allows 720 bitrate saturation to go well past 1080i. Unfortunately the 1080i pipeline is limited.

That's the other thing: FCP + Deinterlacing's a bit of a toss up. I've heard people tell stories of anger, some sing praises.

Feels like 720 scaled to 1080 the right way would be better fit for the process, but the real tell would be actually shooting a project and comparing.
