GH1 Intervalometer trick to get JYC mc P1 to work

Anyone got any hints or tips on something that i may be doing wrong - i cant get this new item to fire the shutter on my gh1

it beeps and acts like it should - but no action from the camera - i have tried everything in the manul like making sure power save mode is on etc etc

As far as i can tell this model is compatible with the camera - the jack fits.

perhaps there is something simple i am missing ?

or is this karma for getting a cheap intervalometer of ebay?
 
nope - that doesnt fix it - think i got a dodgy one

my research tells me that these units are notoriously unreliable

serves me right for going cheap ebay (against my better instincts)

Yep, same here Matt, the one i bought only works intermittently. Turns out one of the wires is broken at the point of entry into the 2.5mm plug. Had to cut and solder new 2.5mm plug. The wires are tiny thin, but the main unit works fine.

I bought the Pixel Branded one.
