Why is it when I go into interval recording mode my format changes from 30p to 24p? Has anyone else ran into this? Is there any way to record a timelapse in 30p? Thanks for the input!

Interval is only supported in the 24p mode.

Is there a particular reason for that Barry or is it "just the way it is"?

I don't know if that is a problem. You can simply conform your clip to be 30fps or whatever frame rate you need. When I use the HPX170 in time-lapse interval mode, it records into 30fps, and I conform it to 23.98fps as I usually work with that.
