Went on a canoe trip last week and brought my DVX100.
Decided to do a few timelapses by using the interval rocording in 30p mode.
I have done this many times before with success, but this time I encountered a bit of a problem. Barry Green's book explains how to do this, stating that the camera records 15 frames every 30sec(original DVX100).
By capturing to a 24p timeline you apply a 1500% motion effect to speed up the footage which isolates 1 frame out of every recorded group of 15 frames.
That's fine and I understand that and it has worked for me several times.
However this time the interval recorded footage when brought to my timeline reveals inconsistency in the recorded groups per interval. Some sections are 18 frames, some 17, 16, 15 even 14. As a result, the frame isolation when doing a motion effect is miss calculated causing my timelapses to be very jumpy. Any reason as to why my camera is doing this.
Many thanks.
