Interval Record Help

Shot this early yesterday morning and there are some things I am not happy with and need help with solving these.
  • Firstly there is an image shift in the first part, think this is due to me checking the focus while rolling. (would anything else cause this?)
  • Secondly, I rode the exposure while shooting (probably not a good idea now that I see how prevalent it is.) any suggestions?
Other info:
Lumix 14-140
Started shooting at an f.10 and rode it all the way to 22.
Shot a frame every second.

Hi Tazza

It looks to me at the shot is over exposed by at least a stop and a half. The point of interest is the Sun and it is totally blown out. I think you do have to ride the exposure on a timelapse shot, so this isn't an issue. Often it is easier to film the sunset and then reverse the shot. Another point is there is not really a great deal of interest in the shot, passing cars, people etc - to help capture the sense of time wizzing on by. But the exposure is the biggest issue here. Just my two bits..

thanks Sparky, I thought about doing this in reverse but the sun sets over some trees in this area and wouldn't look as interesting, I don't mind the lack of activity because we are using VO to talk about the beach, have some other nice time lapse cloud scapes as well.
Still trying to figure out what trickery I can use in post to eleminate the exposure bumps... next time I will start the the shot at maybe an f.14 and more ND's and let nature take its course.
Thanks for the suggestions.
