My and my friend just got an hmc40 and we are trying to film a sunset time lapse. How would you recommend doing this? like with what interval recording? thank you for the help.

There's a table in the HMC Book that tells you what interval will result in what final record time (so, if you want a 20-minute sunset to play back in 30 seconds, for example). I don't remember the numbers offhand, but the book comes with all the new HMC40s in the USA so you guys should have it. It's in a table in the back.

I looked it up:
Interval : 1 hour becomes
1 second : 2.5 minutes
10 seconds : 15 seconds
30 seconds : 5 seconds
1 minute : 2.5 seconds
2 minutes : 1.25 seconds
Now a 20 minute sunset is 1/3 of an hour, so ...
Interval : 1/3 hour becomes
1 second : 50 seconds
10 seconds : 5 seconds
I'd use the 1 second setting and if I needed it fasted, you can always speed of the action.
