Internal Hard-drive Hookups

So, I'm trying to put in an internal harddrive temporarily so I can transfer all the files to an external drive thru a firewire.

The catcher is that - I have only slots for 2 internals and those slots are already taken up. So the question is - how would I go about this? Disconnect the one that doesnt have windows on it (obviously) and then plug the new one in and startup and everything should be fine?

Anybody have any experience with this?

Or..... you could buy a USB/Firewire external case for this new drive. Install it in that and just tie it into your system like your current external drive.
Of course the cheapest thing to do is just temporarily remove the second internal drive as you mentioned.
 
The drive doesn't have to be inside the box, as long as you have power and data connections long enough to reach it outside.
