internal clock running fast

I am the Tech Super and steadicam DP on a VH1 show and we are shooting on 12 dvx100'a. We have been recording in free run and time of day. Everyday I set all 12 cameras to a time of day and start them with 1 remote. now we are synced between all cameras. The first 2 weeks cameras would slip a few frames and even a few sesonds but no big deal post was happy.
Now all of a sudden a few of the cameras have started coming in halfway through the night and they are hours apart. The only thing I can think of is that the internal battery needs to be changed. Majority of the cameras were new out of the box.
Some of which we are having this issue with.

Any Suggestions?
thanks in advance

You have to make sure that when you set-up and sync the time on DVX100, you actualy activate it.
If you go into the menu where you want to change the time and date, when you make the changes you have to get out of the set-up by pressing the menu button twice or three times (I can't remember exactly).
If you set-up your clock and flick thru other sub-menu options - the camera will not accept the change of clock.

Try this and test it before you change the batteries.

Hope this helps.

you shooting in 24P or conventional interlaced? if the latter, are you sure all units are on the same frame mode (drop frame, NDF, etc..)

we are shooting in 24p. We were successfull in getting all cameras synced the first 2 weeks. We havent changed how we are setting up the cameras. When i activate them all the cameras are checked to see that they all set. They when they come back after the first shoot we check them again. (About 3 hours later) now we see that some of them are way off.

On page 29 of the manual (pdf version, anyway) it shows how to charge the internal battery.

Basically, hook the camera up to the batt charger while the camera is OFF, and let it charge for 4 hours.

But if the internal battery was down, you should get a little error icon in the upper left corner of the viewfinder.
