The Tapeless One
Guys,

Just finished up with Larry Jordan's FCP 5.0 training book. What would be the next recommended FCP training manual to go to the "expert" level ?

Thanks, and BTW, I totally enjoyed Larry's book and his videos.

Thanks Noah, I will check those options out. I used to do my editing with Premiere Pro 2.0. Then I got a hold of a Macbook and FCS.

Even though I am still learning OS X and FCP, I AM A TOTAL CONVERT now. I will be getting either the Mac PRo or MAcBook Pro pending on whats gonna happened at MWSF 07.

Sometimes they asked me "wht so special bout FC? ", i cant really explain it ! Its just more elegant, intuitive and BETTER than Premiere !!

Which training course would you recommend (in order) ? Do i have to sit through the Intro Course ??

For Apple- that's worth contacting them. The intro course gives you a very thorough foundation and may well teach you many new techniques and tools you are not aware of. I took it after using FCP for many years and learned a lot of useful stuff as well as unlearning some bad habits that were making my editing less fun and efficient.

Apple Pro Training Series, nothing better on the planet for learning FCP the right way. Here's my recommended list for my students:

APTS, Final Cut Pro
APTS, Advanced Color Correction And Effects In Final Cut Pro
APTS, Optimizing Your Final Cut Pro System
APTS, Compressor Quick-Reference Guide
APTS, Encyclopedia of Color Correction/Field Techniques Using Final Cut Pro

Ben, just got my

APTS, Final Cut Pro
APTS, Advanced Color Correction And Effects In Final Cut Pro
APTS, Compressor Quick-Reference Guide
APTS, Encyclopedia of Color Correction/Field Techniques Using Final Cut Pro

One question, is the APTS series books the same one used in a face-to-face apple training classroom ?
