Hi,
I'm having some new interlacing problems and nothing has changed in my workflow other than the fact that I've just gotten a new Mac Pro and Final Cut studio...this is the first wedding we've actually digitized to the new mac so not sure if there is some setting that we need to change that is a default, or what, but here's the situation:
We shoot in 60i, squeeze mode. We capture using the DV NTSC Anamorphic Preset. We encode using the "best quality" settings in Compressor. We author a 16:9 letterox in DVD Studio Pro.
We have been using this workflow all summer, but suddenly there is a HUGE interlacing issue. I noticed it in the footage at first, it was definitely noticeable, but I really really am picky and thought it was just myself overanalyzing...but then throughout every phase it seems to get worse...Things that should be straight lines have liney/jagged edged, and motion is terrible. Is there something that comes on the default settings of FCP that we should be aware of? Since we are using the same workflow and not changing any settings in compressor, and the fact that I noticed it in the source footage, leads me to believe it had to have happened in the capture phase. Any advice would be much appreciated!
