I imported some 5D MKII H.264 footage into Final Cut for the first time, and I noticed that under the "field dominance" column it says "upper (odd)" -- does that mean the footage is interlaced? I was thinking that the 5D shot progressive footage, but when I looked at the manual, I did not see any reference to this. But then maybe I missed it.
When I transcode the footage to Apple ProRes using Streamclip and leave the interlaced box unchecked, it still says "upper (odd)" in the field dominance column.
By comparison, when I import footage from the HVX200 and the Olympus EP-1, the field dominance column says "none," which is what I would expect from progressive footage.
Will the 5D shoot both interlaced and progressive? Am I missing something about getting it to shoot progressive?
Thanks for any advice,
Jim
