Interlaced or not for fightscene

Hey folks,

I need to do a fight scene next week. I have done some testscenes 1080p
to achieve the best kwality. What I noticed is that I have a lot of gosting in fast movements of the actors. Thats why a wonder if it would not be better to shoot 1080i. or 720i .

Altouch I wonder how they manage to do it then in 35mm movie seen in the hollywood movies I do not spot to much gosting artifact by fast movements
and it is also 24p.

My first fightscene I shot on pal interlaced, and I had no trouble of gosting at all.

Is here anybody having experience with fightscenes.

Thanks
Kind regards
Guus

The "gosting artifact" isnt an artifact at all, its caused by the shutter, its called motion blur.

shoot progressive, but with a high shutter speed (at least 1/250, maybe even higher if your lighting permits)

No. This will lead to excessive judder. Shoot interlaced; it's less distracting. Trust your eyes.

Thanks collegue's for tghe info
I will try new tests with a faster shutter speed and Interlaced to compare.
But they say progressive is more filmlike, so I'am with a dilemma here.
I do forgot to say It will be a night scene so I will need ton's of light.

I have tought doing it interlaced to have less grain
and mayby fix it later on rendering it out to progressive
but then again what's the use it is DVD and festival projection?

thanks for the fast reply's
Guy
