We need to get some outdoor scenes done, and Wednesday will be the only nice day in the last ten days, and who knows what the weather will be like after that. There's a 40% chance of rain (light showers), and I'm wondering... If I get the DVX turned off and put back in it's case in 60 seconds, what damage could I possibly do?

It's not a situation I like to be in, but if we push the scenes off to another day, who knows when that will be... and it's due the 17th of next month and I still need to edit.

I'm not sure what you're exactly asking. (and I think John is confused as well)

Do you mean letting your dvx get rained on for sixty seconds??

If so, I highly recommend against that. That's ridiculous. Just get a rain slicker for 100 bucks or something.

At least have a garbage bag along. That could save your ass.
yeah i would have to agree with that. However, if i were you, i would just spend the $100 on a nice portabrace rain slicker.

I used to have one for my sony vx2100 and it worked great. Below is a purchase link for B&H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=271228&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

A clear pastic bag is good, can see your controls trhough it and still press them. Gaff it to the lense hood and use a clear (or your preference of filter). Works a treat.

Ive had my DVX mounted on a tripod in this way. When you screw the tripod plate on , no need to make a hole just turn in with the plastic over the screw.
