Interesting problem using Elura cam for capture

Maybe this has been covered before but I'm too lazy to do a search.

I use a Canon Elura 2MC camera to do all of my capturing. I haven't really concerned myself until recently with sound. Now I'm noticing that when the sound is captured, it's broken up...like it has audio dropouts all over it. When I capture the same footage from the DVX, I have no problem. There's also no problem with the picture being captured from the Elura.

Any insights?

Hey, this sounds exactly like the problem I have with my Canon Optura. I posted a question on Vegas forum thinking this would have something to do with Vegas (http://www.dvxuser.com/cgi-bin/DVX2/YaBB.pl?board=Vegas;action=display;num=1102974567).

Since I used time code preset during filming, and I had fifteen tapes, eventually the Optura stopped registering correct time code (at 00:07:59:59;59 ::)), so I was forced to switch to DVX for capturing. Guess what? The audio was as smooth as butter.

I guess that leaves cheapo Canon camcorders out as capturing devices, huh?
