Interesting KickStarter for SoftPanel LED Lights : 1'x2', 2'x3', 3'x4'

I just saw these posted somewhere else. They look very interesting. I wish they had the photometric information listed but they look like solid lights and very decent alternatives to the new Astra soft or Kino celeb.

The 2'x3' at 300w should be pretty bright for a soft light but also pretty pricey.

I'm really tempted to get 2 of the 1x2 for the price they look great and would cover most of my interview lighting needs. The intelligent colour controls would save so much time when shooting in environments where complete colour control is tough. The 1x2 looks like a direct competitor of the Astra soft panels or a poor mans cineo mavrick.

The 2x3 looks really tempting as almost a mobile window of light (I love this size of softbox/light) but the 30lb weight limits the practicality of lugging it around. 300watts of soft LED is appealing though. In the end I think 2 of the 1x2 is more practical for the slightly less money.

1x2, the others are listed with the big one at 5000 watts equiv.:
  • High light output - equivalent to a 1000w tungsten soft light - 2900 lux/269 FC at 4ft [.8m] - with broad light dispersion/coverage

I see they have added specs for all the panels.

1x2 -
  • High light output - equivalent to a 1000w tungsten soft light - 2900 lux/269 FC at 4ft [.8m] - with broad light dispersion/coverage
2x3-
  • High light output - equivalent to a 3000w tungsten soft light - 5500 lux/510 FC at 4ft [.8m] - with broad light dispersion/coverage
3x4-
  • High light output - equivalent to a 5000w tungsten soft light [7500 lux/700 FC at 4ft [.8m] - with very broad light dispersion/coverage

I'm leaning towards two of the 1x2 to transition my kit from kino fixtures to LED. I hate carrying around extra bulbs.

I'm really leaning towards the 2x3 panel. Yes its expensive but the appeal of a strong large soft source is huge. Yes its heavy but it would be the only key I'd need for 99% of the work I do. Like a portable window of light that can match any colour around it. That will save so much time on set and 300w of soft light should cover most office day backlit interviews.

I was looking at getting two of the 1x2 panels to replace my diva clones but the appeal of a light like the 2x3 which gives me something I currently don't have in my arsenal. I've been after a good LED fresnel but given they are all about 120watt and would need to be shot through difussion or softbox anyway something like this 300watt soft light will save that entire step and is soft enough I can get it nice and close to use all that power in bright sunny locations.
