interesting article

the thing that bothered me is he consoles hdv users by saying mini dv, at 4.1.1 has been around for years and people have been keying off it successfully all that time. i've never had much luck with it.

Actually that part was expertly worded to TRY and make HDV users feel better about the keying. It says:

Despite the many claims that color correction and chroma-keying must be done with 4:2:2 video, native HDV shooters should keep in mind that there has been a decade of successful, native DV (4:1:1) editing.
See? He starts out talking about keying and ends talking about editing.
A decade of successful editing! YAY!

That is one of the most retarded things I have heard in awhile.. everyone knows DV sucked at keying. Alot of companies made alot of money trying to fix that. It could be done well, but not really well.

When the guys who where doing post on that Munich stuff I shot pulled the footage from the HVX into ultimatte for the first time, the smiles on thier faces where this big :D ..

I find your use of the past tense when referring to DV entertaining...:)
