FUN comparison of RED vs GH5 6K high res Anamorphic with the Angeniux 30 – 72 optimo anamorphic zoom lens. Yes we all know about the price difference. Conclusion: GH5 does a very good job in comparison. https://youtu.be/8bQbk9zhGQc BTW lens costs $16k if you need a couple :-)
 
I thought the red footage was soft everywhere which makes me think that the GH5 had some sharpening being applied in the camera. Also white balance on the GH5 was better and that may have made the video seem better.

But without the real footage to A/B compare, we can only see what was presented through Youtube compression. Through my garbage monitor at work this looked pretty good and either could be used as long as you didn't alter it too much to where the RED could have an advantage (assuming less compression and higher bit depth).
 
I love this channel's enthusiasm for the GH5, the humor, the amount of posts, etc...but unfortunately, most of what I see from them comes up lacking in the image quality department. I am looking forward to hi-end Gh5 anamorphic footage and testing, but this just looks lousy in my opinion, and the RED footage does too. I figured the short film they did for Panasonic looked wonky because it is in HDR, but this sort of thing I just don't understand.
 
No surprises here. The GH5 was contrasty and had a slight magnification due to its micro 4/3 sensor. The RED had more DR and had a wider angle due to its sensor size.
Colors seemed off on both so I'll put that on the post team.
