Just last week I put insurance on all my "traveling" camera and music gear. Since it's just a hobby, my State Farm agent got me a "floater" policy (yes, "floater).
Covers my cameras, support gear, laptop etc either in the house or out-and-a-bout shooting. zero deductable and $260 a year for 20k in coverage.
If it turns into a business the price goes up but still under $600 a year.
I have a repair tech platinum plan that is for 4 years.
it's a pretty sweet deal, basically call them up tell them i need to get my camera repaired they send me a box and i get it back within a week and a half with no extra costs.
I'm getting my 100b repaired right now so i'll see how their service actually is.
