Insurance Question

I just logged in to post about this and then read the previous post about "not having insurance on set". My question is in reference to this partly. I just bought my HVX200 and was told by some people I should start renting it out. What do I need to get (insurance wise) in order to cover my ass? Someone at the rental house I use said lookup Marine Floater Policy and other's said just speak to my Car or Homeowner's Insurance company.

I want to have my camera, firestore, monitor etc etc covered from being stolen or broken by myself or someone that rents it from me. Does the renter need to show proof of insurance or if it is broken do I just claim it like I broke it?

Any advice would be great help.

When you rent your camera to a company shooting with it ask for a certifcate of insurance with your company named on it. they will fax or email you a copy and then your gear is covered by their production insurance if something happens to it while they have it. I also carry production insurance so I am back up. I bought mine through fracturedatlas.com
