F3: Installing SLOG - F3 won't recognize CBK-RGB01 card?

I have an F3 that I purchased from a dealer with the paid slog option. This was before SLOG became a free option. Technically speaking this is a Sony F3-L.

The camera has not been used and I am now finally gearing up for a project and I noticed that the slog option does not seem to have been installed from the factory.
The 1.4 update was recently installed by me.

Under video output the dual link option is grayed out, which leads me to believe that the slog upgrade was not installed at the factory.

I have the original CBK-RGB01 SxS card and when I try in install the upgrade the following occurs.

1) insert SxS card. The LED on the slot turns red. Card is write protected.

2) Go to 'others' menu and try to select 'InstallOption, but that option greyed out.

Can't proceed from there.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Write protection is a little black plastic switch on the long side of the card (visible and usable when the card is in the camera and the sliding door for the cards is open). Move the switch and it should work for both the key and regular use.

Oh, Sony.

The write protect on the SxS needs to be off so it can write the password to the card.

Remember film? Load camera, shoot scene, blame lab?

Thanks for that.

More like, the card needs to be writable so the pass key can be deleted after the passkey is copied to the camera. It probably writes a bunch of zeros in the passkey's place.
