Installing FCP and Composer on the same computer?

I am going to be getting a G4 tower with Media Composer and was wondering if there would be any media management issues (or any other issues for that matter) if FCP5 and Composer were on the same system?

Is it a good idea to keep them isolated?
Will it really effect the performance of the machine if there are 2 NLE's of that caliber installed on it?

Thanks so much.

I've got FCP and Xpress Pro on the game Powerbook. Since Pro and Composer are the same codebase I'd assume that it wouldn't be a problem. Just don't run them at the same time. :)

I'd be VERY careful about that.

Oftimes Avid and FCPro use diffreent versions of quicktime and other drivers as well.

You might want to look into a dual boot with separate installs.

That's an excellent point. You do need to be very aware of what each program needs and make sure that you don't step on either of their toes.

To be more specific, I've got Xpress Pro 4.8, Final Cut Studio 5.1, and Quicktime 7.0.4 installed on the same Powerbook and all is well.
