Infrared FIlm Stock Look

Does anyone know how to achieve the look of shooting on Infrared Film Stock with the DVX? Doesn't seem like you could do this in post without a lot of masking and manual labor.

Just saw the film "I am Cuba" and some of the Infrared shot footage looked amazing.

I achieved a black and white infrared look a while ago with adjustment layers in After Effects PM and ill send you the file.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I don't work in AE (not by choice, just haven't made it there yet). Anyhow, do you have a still you can post or some footage, or is that what you meant when you said you would send a file?

Thx.

No I have an after effects project file that I could have sent you which would have allowed you to dump your footage in underneath it and render it out for instant infrared look but since you don't have AE its no good to you.

if you could point me to a still of the effect you are looking for, I could probably write a shake macro to emulate it, or figure out a way to do it in photoshop. THen you could export as a tif sequence, and use photoshop to batch it.

Sure, here's a couple from a Google image search, maybe I should try posting this in the Vegas forum as that's what I'm using:

*here's an article about getting this effect with a digital camera, but I'm not sure if the DVX is different in how it processes or filters out IR:

So, after doing some more research, it appears that the only way to do this (in-camera) is through a modification (removal of an internal IR filter), which might be ok on my $300 camera but surely not something I want to do on my DVX. So, I posted this question to the Vegas forum, thanks for your ideas though.
