Is there any books or web sites that offer good straightforward advice to getting the best from colour correction in a NLE? As a beginner in this area and using the obviously fairly basic Premiere Elements 10 I would like to know what the differences are between the various effects you have such as Three way colour corrector, autotone & vibrance, gamma correction etc. Rather than just fiddling with them and not really knowing what type of settings I should try. Nor wanting to simply use the "auto" options which nearly always spoil rather than improve an image!
Also when you colour correct a video sequence- I am finding in just playing around with different settings that you can get bits of the video looking ok but if the light changes or you change the viewpoint of the shot while filming other bits look bad. So would like to know how you can blend the colour correction to give a good overall look.
