Hello Everyone. This is my 3rd project directing and first one using lighting and a studio. Tried to make it as a film noir short. Would appretiate any info, advice, or suggestion. The one thing: It's in spanish but just look at it as a simple interrogation scene. Thanks and looking forward for your opinions.

Nice, noir is def one of my fav genres and i love the classics.

Here are some editorial notes about your short. It looks good, the close ups are particularly nice. Now as for whats not good, you had one or two angles which were way to hot, and almost washed out. Those seemed a little to bright for the look and feel you were going for. I think the only time its ok to show your character that washed out, is if they are intentionally putting a ton of light on him to the point it blinds his eyes and you see him squinting.

Minor gripe i suppose.

Im assuming this was done in a studio?

My fav shot is the sillouette of the camera on bottom looking up and all you see if the outline of hte guy in the hat above.

Keep it comming.

Thanks for your reply! Yea when I saw the footage i noticed the over light on the character. I was trying to portray that the light that was turned on towards him represented like "his chances" and when the bad guy went and covered the light it would mean like he's toast. But I agree. The next time I'll difuse a bit more the light since the shot erased the details on the actor. And yes it was done on a studio.

Thanks for the advice, very helpful!

Very short but very enjoyable. Film noir is awesome in its own and what you did really portrayed what it's about. Yes I couldn't understand what they were saying but just the use of the lights was fantastic.

I agree with jonE5 my favourite shot was with the sillouette.

Only complaint I have is with the light over the character as well but since you already touched upon that I really have no other complaints. Keep them coming.

Thank you noble one, I appretiate your input. I agree, film noir is awesome. Trying to make another a little longer but with other settings to see how it goes. I'll post it here as soon as I'm finished
