Do you think Cam Caddie Scorpion EX is useful with a handycam like Sony AX100? I never used handycam and I'd like to clear my ideas.

Some users tell it is useful as for handling as for balancing and stabilizing a handycam like AX100 because vibrations reverberate on the handle.
I'd like to use it for to make documentaries in my trips.

The Scorpion may be nice for skateboarding when you need to shoot from around waist level (well, that´s how I´ve seen it used sometimes), but I would suggest a simple monopod for the AX100. Sth midsize and fairly heavy (0,5Kg) like this:

Screw it under and grap just under the camera. This will help to stabilize handheld shots, if you need them.
If you add a ballhead, you can stick the bottom of the monopod into the front pocket of your jeans/pants or use a dedicated belt pouch.

Since the AX100 has a rolling shutter you'd often find carrying it by a handle to create a lot of jello. For handicams most people prefer tripods, sliders and monopods with slow even movements.
