Hi
it looks like it's still a few months out, but I'm planning a switch to full frame, in case the 5Dmk3 comes around this year with minimized moire/aliasing issues
that means saving, and researching wide angle lenses, because that's where my set will be lacking (my current wide-angles are for crop sensor only, and I already have a 35, 50, 90 and 135, and know which 180 I'll want to get)
so, I found out about this lens today, and it looks like the full-frame equivalent of the extremely popular tokina 11-16; in fact, it looks too impressive for the lack of buzz I see about it...
that's why I'm asking: does anybody have this lens? are there any known issues I might be missing?
this is the lens:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/735451-REG/Tokina_ATX168PROFXC_AT_X_16_28mm_F2_8_Pro.html
from what I've read, the only problems are that it's really heavy (nearly 1kg), can't take filters, and has more chromatic aberration than its canon counterparts
on the plus side:
* it is sharper than the 16-35L, the 17-40L and the 24-70L (at 24mm)
* it has relatively little distortion, less than the 16-35L and much less than the 24-70L at 24mm
* it shows less vignetting than the 16-35L
* at $850, it's much cheaper than the 16-35L or the 24-70L, and just a bit more expensive than the fuzzier and slower 17-40L

"Technically the Tokina is superior to the current Canon EF zoom lenses in basically all the analysed image aspects! Unfortunately there may be a hair spoiling the (optical) soup here - quality control."
