I've been using the HVX consistently for about a year and a bit now. I never used auto focus because it seemed mostly useless when shooting 24p. Recently I was shooting interlaced and decided to give the autofocus a chance. I noticed an odd behavior that I was wondering about.
Infinity is designated as MF95 in the viewfinder. The auto focus would consistently go to MF97 Whenever I had the telephoto set to the widest position. Even when the subject was 5 feet away from me. If I zoomed in the autofocus would respond and focus to around MF50 or 60, but as soon as I zoomed out, right back to MF97. Why would the autofocus want to go past infinity at the wide end of the telephoto?
Thanks, tIm
