Infinite Focus

Hi all I am messing around with HVX infinite foxus and open iris.

It looks like the images are a bit soft(er).

Can anybody help me to understand why ?
What is the min. distance to have best results ?

The more open the iris is the shallower the DOF (depth of Field) is. the more zoomed in you are, the shallower the DOF also.

So, I'd say what's happening is you're not focussed accurately enough, and with a very shallow DOF it will be more easily recognised and look soft.

Do a search regarding DOF and focus to learn more about it.

Also the image will be softer at F2 to Open as the HVX loses resolution at these apertures. This also applies to apertures above F9 point something. The exact settings are in Barry's book. So if you can try to stay between F2.4-F8 then your image will be at the highest possible resolution.

Someone will no doubt jump in and correct the settings I said

For several reasons the HVX focuses past infinity. You may be focusing to far.

How can I avoid focusing past infinity. I regularly push the infinite focus button.
