Inexpensive Mattebox?

I had a cavision 3x3 mattebox laying around when my GH1 arrived. I checked it with the kit zoom on wide and no vignette. They are around $170 if memory serves correctly. (pretty inexpensive as mb's go)

If you go this route, don't get the wide version because the top flag they make only fits the regular one.

To me (obviously depending on what you're doing) a mattebox is like the very last camera accessory you should invest in, after you have everything else. Filters that screw on look really well and I have yet to talk to anyone who absolutely requires graded filters for a project (although I understand the application.) Anyway I personally am not planning on even looking at matteboxes until after I have everything else on my accessories list. Sorry if I didn't add much to the conversation, just trying to say maybe the question should be: do you need a mattebox? Really think about what you're shooting and if you need one. And if the answer is yes, ask yourself: do you really want a cheap one?
