"INEVITABLE" made for the Columbus 48HFP

We had a team of, i think 9 of us on the writing team. Basically just filtered throughout everyone's ideas and came up with a simple solid script. Parameters were: deck of cards (prop), Ms. Danoff the substitute teacher (character), and "Do what you want to do" was our required line of dialogue. We pulled the Superhero genre...which is more like a theme.

Glad you all enjoyed it!

Nice production value and concept. The cards clacking on the table as a transition felt a little cheap, as did the "get out" casually requested of the pervert in the park. I also think the shots in the bar scene could have been enhanced with a little motion and some varied shot selection.

One of the best 48hr projects I've seen overall.

Agreed on all points, Snazzy. There are loads of things we wanted to change or do differently, but that's the pressure of having only 48 hours. We spent so much time on the time freeze shot we only had 20 minutes to shoot ALL of the dialogue.

Makes you really wanna spend some time on a film...at least more than two days.

Nicely done. How did you do the time freeze?

My only nit is the high ambient noise in the bar scene. I'd like to hear from more experience audio guys how that could've been improved relatively quickly and cheaply.

Audio was a nightmare in the bar. Turns out our mixers line feed was malfunctioning. Again, if we had time...

The time freeze was pretty simple: "when you hear the second clap of the cards, stop." Of course, we had more planned for that, too, like darts held in midflight, beer being poured, etc. But we decoded we were being ambition enough.
