Indy 5

Looks like some rumors about Indiana Jones 5 have leaked. They might be false, but still good for discussion.

Indiana Jones 5 will begin shooting next year, and much of the plot line will be centered around the Bermuda Triangle, an area over the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft are said to have disappeared.

"George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it's almost there," a source explained.

"Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet."

"Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy's son but this will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie," the source added.

As for the Bermuda Triangle I'm not sold yet, but still better than crystal skulls and aliens. Although, I do worry that Lucas will possibly try to tie the Triangle in with the aliens from Indy 4. Hopefully that won't happen.

Indy facing his biggest challenge yet...incontinence.

Well if Spielberg and Lucas putz around for another decade on the script instead of getting the film going in the not-too-distant future, then he just might have to face that by the time the cameras roll on part 5.

If Lucas is involved in Indy 5 in any way that doesn't involve Indy kicking him in the groin multiple times on film before dropping him into a pit of angry hippos, this will probably still be terrible.

Still, it would be tough to be worse than Crystal Skull, so you never know...

I'm glad to hear the "old school" way is being emphasized, but I'll believe it when I see it. Indy 4 was a disaster.

I guess this wouldn't be the right thread for me to post that I actually liked the last Indy movie...

As long as they promise this will be the last one.

Actually I'd prefer they promise that the *last* one was the last one, but I guess that's too much to hope for.

First one was the last one, for me. They just get more and more pointless and embarrassing, from there on in.

Well, really the plunge begins about 15-20 minutes into Temple of Doom. But the first 15-20 minutes don't particularly stand alone as an Indy movie, for all that they felt like one.

So it looks like this was a false rumor.

Producer Frank Marshall just responded to the Indiana Jones 5 rumor heard around the world yesterday with the following tweet: "The rumor about INDY 5 is completely false. Nothing has changed, we are not shooting next year and still in the research phase..."

I guess if they ever do get around to making Indy 5, then we can use this thread again. They better hurry if they actually want to do another one. Harrison Ford will turn 70 in just about two years. I'd say their window of opportunity is closing pretty fast, and right now if they are only in the "research" phase, then I don't see this going into production anytime too soon.

Yes!!!! :2vrolijk_08:

Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Golden Man

The big revelation could be how the golden statues are shiny but ultimately worthless, as it is Harrison Ford they are truly seeking, so as to revive their friendship with him after the embarrassment of the last film they all made together.

It's been done...
