I really hope this films gets made.

I think Jim Carrey is the most underrated actor in hollyweird. Also he is reuniting with Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski the guys who wrote Man on the Moon. And Spike Jonze directing.

I hope that poor Jim can finally earn himself an oscar nom after a string of rather unfortunate film selections. I think he is such an underrated dramatic lead.

Argh, "Number 23" was probably one of the worst films I've seen in 2007.
Jim was good on "Man on the moon" and ok on "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" but I've never seen another performance that made me think of him as a "great actor". I'm more interested on the fact that this is going to be directed by Spike Jonze.

i would say the truman show is one of my favorite performances of the 90s let alone one of my favorite films of that same era.

I don't normally watch dramatic films, I'm more geared towards horror, sci fi and comedy, so I haven't seen Cary in a serious role yet... that I can remember. That said, I find him extremely irritating and one dimensional. I will have to try and see some of his other works.

I said he made some poor choices in films recently. I think the his other dramatic roles...seeing as he worked with much much better directors doesn't hurt....show he is extremely capable of carrying a dramatic movie.

Oh poor Jim...

Now that you mention it, I did see 23. Interesting twist, but not a great film. Cary was so so, but it could have been blamed on the script/Director.

i think he might of come close with truman show, and since then he has so wanted to succeed at the dramatic level that he has panicked and picked worse/riskier scripts.

i do think he can be a strong dramatic lead. underrated? kinda... i still think there are dozens of more versatile (comedy and drama) out there. ok maybe not dozens, but you get my point.

btw, used to hate him, now i have a great respect for him. i think he is one-dimensional at first look, but even on his comedy films he shows some great diversity.

I think he does his job in his comedic performances, even though I don't particularly enjoy them.

I love his dramatic roles though.
