FS5: Indoor Microphone Review shot with FS5 - Product shots.

Just thought I'd share a mic review I shot in my studio using the FS5. I shot it all in UHD using the Vortex PP, but still did some color correcting to match the shots up. I used the Sigma 24-105 f/4 lens with the Metabones Speedbooster Ultra. I'm not seeing any noise in the shots. This trounces my old EX1 cameras, and edges out my GH4 in image quality. I had a 13 angle multicam going for the demo song - all in UHD, but edited in proxy. My 2013 iMac handled it without a hiccup. So far I'm very happy with what I'm getting out of the FS5.

I used these LED lights in my studio (the Chinese versions), and the colors are quite accurate. Not perfect, with a slight green cast, but better than most LED lights under 1,000.00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwiMa3xMMe8

chad-

i also liked the linked flapjack lights.

did you use two?

did you use them to LIGHT UP the studio or were they more directed?

(the way years back i would put up a lowel tota and bounce it off the ceiling to raise the general brightness on set.)

again, nicely done spot.

be well.

Thanks a lot! I'm really digging the camera so gar, in spite of it's shortcomings. I used 2 of the 700 LED edge lights, and one Torch 220 LED as a hair light for the on-cam. I didn't do any bouncing. I think I did also use a smaller flapjack to light the wall with guitars behind me in some shots. I used no other light. Well, on my desk I have this cool LED desk lamp with variable color and brightness, but that was just to kill a dark spot on the wall.

That is a great desk lamp to have if you shoot in your own office. It's even good for lighting yourself in Skype calls.

Yeah, it does look great and it's cool to see my PP in action by somebody else. Well done. To be honest, I don't think I would have guessed it was shot with an FS5 if you hadn't said so.

Just for scientific purposes, here's the music video with absolutely no color correction. This is straight off the FS5 using Doug's PP, camera set to Daylight WB preset, LED lights set to daylight balanced. I probably would have got better color doing a custom WB, but I just wanted to test what I got using straight daylight presets.
