so i finally got it in
I have to say that Tim (i believe was his name) is most likely one of the best individual sellers i have ever dealt with. He responded to my emails quickly, and even shipped this to me EXPRESS mail!!!! Its hard enough to get someone to ship to APO to begin with (cough REDROCK cough) but this guy pulled through and amazed me 110%.
anyways, on to the rig itself.
It looks a bit different from the phtos online, im guessing they updated it, for the best 100%
Instead of terminating at the rear shoulder pad, it now is a pad mounted to a rod. So i can adjust the axis of the pad (which i did, a little inwards to my neck) along with horizontal position, and you can angle the rig itself where it meets the main rails.
Uses a gitios (spelling?) quick release mount, seems to be of good construction IMO. All the quick releases allow you to pull up, and turn to reposition the placement of the extended part (the part you have leverage on to turn it)
the handles are pretty cool. ive found a few very comfortable positions, and will test out which ones are most comfy this weekend. it has a LARGE amount of adjust-ability for sure, and all metal rods except for the main pair of carbons.
Also has a counterweight on the rear of hte shoulder pad, that appears to be able to be expanded upon with tapped screw holes (will be calling tonight about extras!) it is a tad front heavy, but with one or two more counterweights, it will even out even after a matte box.
Also the camera mount, where the quick release is mounted is vertically adjustable. you loosen a set screw, and it slides up and down (thumb turn screw) so you can fine tune the height to meet your eye, or if you have a battery grip, it can mount on here as well with no problem. quick release plate also allows battery door opening while installed, a great perk. there is a tapped hole on the bottom to mount a quick release plate for tripod use, or whatever use.
overall, im pretty happy with it. its solid, pretty configurable. all i need to finish it is an LCD mount, and carry handle (essom?)
here are some more picshures, which i will update once its not 8 pm and dark as hell outside.
