Folks: I placed an order on June 2008, and I've not received the IndieSnap dolly, TODD (one man show) replied for few days (mentioning various reasons..he forgot he is dealing with other story tellers :-(

Now, he stopped replying emails.. it's been 4 months...

Please beware of this guy before ordering, and save money.

Also please suggest me is any way I can get money from this guy???? Please...

I did place an order with Todd for a dolly, and had similar problems with receiving my shipment. It ended up being an issue with shipping across the Canada/American border. Eventually, he sent out the package again, this time using DHL instead of whatever postal service is used in Canada. It was stopped at the border, and for whatever, sent back to him. He resent it, and it finally made it to me.

I didn't have problems contacting him. He always got back to my emails, although sometimes it did take some time.

I'm not sure what to tell you though. I did get my dolly, and I do like it. For anyone else who buys from IndieSnap, definitely pay a bit extra FedEx and get or DHL shipping.

Have you called his phone? His personal phone number is on the website.

Edit: I'm sorry - I was thinking this was the same gentleman at Indifocus.com

Best of luck...

Looks like he's doing business on eBay under 2 different user IDs.

indiesnap and indie-snap - both registered in Alberta, CAN.

A few negatives for feedback, but recent transactions look like they've been completed.

What's interesting is if you click the "Contact" menu item on their website (www.indiesnap.com) you are sent to another product page where you have to again click on "Contact" on the left.
This provides you with an E-Mail address, but nothing else.

I saw that too... no contact info for the company.

Personally, I wouldn't do business with any company online that doesn't have an physical address in which to contact them (or phone number for that matter). Websites can be closed down in minutes and email addresses, forget about it.

msuren: my suggestion would be to get their physical address somehow. Did you pay for the items by paypal or some other online method? If you paid by paypal, you can contact them for sure for info. If you paid by money order, they can trace it too. All you need is a physical address and then you're in business. If you get the name of the town in Alberta, then go online and look up the city's website. Look for the local better business bureau and/or police department. Contact them and tell them what happened, especially the police. After all, it's mail fraud until you get your item, right?

The police would probably help you out if you provide details and receipts for them. It's Alberta, not much happens out there haha.

If you need help, let me know, OK?

See that's what really sucks about todays world. Guys like this make guys like us look bad !!

If you paid with paypal, they're all about the buyers !

Really??? Wow things have really changed since I was with them. Trying to run an ebay business with them was horrible.

Where did you find the add for the dolly or however you found the company ?

I'll jump in to Todd's defense here. I was probably amongst the firsts to get this dolly and have received nothing but professional services from Todd. In fact, I just ordered another dolly from him and was talking with him via email just yesterday.

There were some problems with getting my dolly as well, partly due to the shipping services he used and partly because it's coming in from another country. Nevertheless, Todd was always communicative and once he actually paid the express shipping cost out of his own pocket so that I would get it in time for my shoot. That's great customer services, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

It saddens me to see all the recent complaints about his business. I know it doesn't help those who have paid and didn't get the goods, but I would just like to say that Todd is no crook. It's hard running a business, especially since you're basically a one man band. Hopefully he'll chime in here and make things right.

sorry Huy Vu... it does not matter whether you are one man band or 1000 men... when u are in a business u must act/serve like a business... specially to the overseas clients. paying for express post (extra payments) and if you don't receive your product/any sort of communication with in an estimated time frame... it is not services ! Plus all the international express post has the tracking #... after asking several times why that was not provided to track the product ourselves ??

I ordered a indiesnap mattebox from todd about 1.5 years ago and received it fine. good quality, great product for the price to help an indie filmmaker. dont be too fast to jump on indiesnap guys. they've been around for a while and arent in the business to screw people. not sure what is happening. could be the customs. i sold an item on ebay once, shipped it to canadian byer - it never made it via USPS.

Alex... every year I do buy items online (specially audio-video equip from North America) never had any issue since this one. Eventually at the same time I ordered some other items - handheld crane(cobra plus) from NY,USA. With in two weeks(EXPRESS) it has been delivered to my door. At the time of my payments, other seller/vendors provided me the tracking # at once. Considering my past experiences, I am expecting the same from indiesnap... and I paid extra $300 for express post... and now it has been almost 2 months...I keep emailing him for update...no response since 14 Nov..08 whereas I supposed to get my item by 5 Nov. Is not that enough time to jumping up into conclusion...?? So what is the point paying extra money for express post and wait for 2/3 months or more ! I understand this is forum is not the right place to express my personal problem ! however, i can't resist myself when I can see I am on the path of loosing money of $1300 ! For some people, it may not be nothing, for me it is a huge amount of money...

I apology to others.... those who have had nice experiences with indiesnap.

No apologies required -- I feel your pain (and hope it works out to your satisfaction, soon).

I think (some of) the other posters are suggesting this is not the norm for Todd. He's been around for a while, a contributor here and generally well thought of--it's doubtful that the present general consensus would be to throw him under the bus (just yet, anyway).

My singular experience with Todd was exemplary. I buy my fair share of "stuff" annually from multiple vendors with great delivery service of the product but I have also endured that occasional disappointment --

I'd sure be interested in knowing how this ends up.

Best.

still no luck with the products or email or anything.. so i contacted with my credit card company to dispute it.. they are on to investigation... also lodged a compliants to Candian Roayl Police (online crime unit)... lets see how can I revocer my $1300.

I hope you get your money back. There's no excuse for not sending your item when you paid responsibly. One man band or not, he's suppossed to be legitimate and responsible.
